Roxy Amsterdam Netherlands1987-1999. The Ro XY was a nightclub in Amsterdam from 1987 to 1999 , which was internationally known for its theatrical and glamorous appearance. The club was located at number 465-467 on the Singel , between the Munt and the Koningsplein.In the early 1990s , Club Ro XY was one of the most important clubs of the house and techno scene in the Netherlands, along with i T and De Waakigheid .On June 21, 1999, the day that Ro XY owner Peter Giele was buried, the disco burned out completely, because the air conditioning was not turned off during the setting of indoor fireworks, so sparks ended up in the ventilation system.
